IASRB Outreach Service

The IASRB Outreach Program visits clients in their homes, nursing homes, hostels and hospitals. Its priority is to care for isolated, elderly Irish people and those considered vulnerable or at risk.
The Program offers information or referral to appropriate government and community resources. It also offers assistance in completing forms for pensions, health care, accessible transport, rent assistance, Centrelink. The IASRB provides transport to these agencies or organise for their representatives to visit clients.
Our clients are given the IASRB calendar of events and offered transport to attend activities. If they cannot attend we ensure they are visited on a regular basis and provided with transport for shopping, to attend medical appointments and religious services.
We handle all matters with confidentiality and ensure that all clients retain their self-respect and dignity.

Some of the information we have at hand is from the Home at Last Group . Home at Last is a service provided by Housing for the Aged Action Group (HAAG) Inc.  HAAG is a community group with a membership base of older people. This service is available if you are having trouble with your tenancy or need secure and affordable housing , HAAG also provides practical services to help older people with their housing problems.  For more information please Call the Home at Last Group service on 1300 765 178 or visit www.oldertenants.org.au. Our outreach Worker can also provide information leaflets if you call the Bureau or drop her a line . Details are below.

Where possible we assign a volunteer from their home town or Irish county.

If this is something you would like to find out more about please contact the Bureau on iasrbvisit@iinet.net.au or call 03 9482 3865. We are always happy to help.
